When experiencing low back pain there has been a misconception that all you need is rest, but in reality YOU NEED TO MOVE!
Moving is the best thing you can do for back pain.
It is very easy to be in pain and think that laying down or sitting may be the best thing for you because any movement will cause you to scream in anguish.
Start with gentle mobility exercises for your back like these and avoid aggressive stretching for prolonged periods of time.
These will allow you to begin to move better throughout the day and recover faster.

Tip #1 -Open books
Follow your hand with your eyes and try to get shoulder parallel to ground.
Tip #2 – Cat/Cow
Focus on moving at your low back into each position. Keep the movement within pain free range.

Tip #3 – Supine nerve glides
Kick leg out until you feel stretch in your leg or back. Do not push into pain! pump your ankle up and down.
Tip #4 – Jefferson curl
Start from the top down…bend at your head and go segment by segment down your spine. Return from the bottom up once you go as far as can go comfortably.
Tip #5 – Go for a walk
