For over 4 years, Dr. Serrano worked at an outpatient physical therapy company, first as a staff physical therapist and then as a clinical director for a local branch. While working as a director of a branch, Dr. Serrano realized that insurance was making his job harder to help individuals become pain-free. He was seeing more and more people every day due to reimbursement from insurance dropping each year affecting the quality of care. As a result, Dr. Serrano and his wife Flor went on to pursue their dream of being business owners and opening Positive Action Rehab & Performance, a performance-based practice that provides 1-on-1 one hour long visits resulting in higher quality care, faster recovery and better outcomes than those in insurance based clinics.
Dr. Serrano treats patients of all ages ranging from preventative therapy to post-surgical and everything in between. He works with orthopedic injuries, geriatrics and barbell, CrossFit and recreational athletes. He practices an evidence-based, patient-centered approach with individualized programming through the use of manual therapy, exercise and movement training along with patient education and empowerment.
Dr. Serrano loves to play basketball and going to the movies. He enjoys working out at King William CrossFit with his wife and especially enjoys the days he beats her on the WOD’s. However, his favorite part of the day is playing and chasing his one year old son Luciano.
