About Your Personal Trainer, Ben.
Ben has been training athletes across a wide spectrum of sports and abilities for 10 years. Ben has a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology & Health, a Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is an Adaptive & Inclusive Trainer through the Adaptive Training Academy. His approaches are evidence based and meet each person where they are. By fostering a partnership with each athlete, he is able to share his vision on how through the discipline and ritual of specialized training, people can elevate their quality of life.
Or as he puts it, "Lift the weight, lift your life."
Previously he has piloted Savannah College of Art and Design's cycling program to multiple conference and national championships. Thereafter he looked to expand upon his education and earned his Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology at Midwestern State University. During that time he won a cycling conference championship, studied training approaches for elite and olympic level athletes in South Korea, and assisted Dr. Frank Wyatt with training instruction at the Explosive Ordnance Division at Sheppard Airforce Base. He has gone on to work with various levels of the armed forces and veteran populations.
His training focus now is in applying an evidence informed approach toward optimizing strength and endurance sports performance, healthy habit development, and training continuity with people across all walks of life. Outside of training Ben's interests are in cooking, exploring new places, and spending time with his friends and family.
